Zach & Leia Dewell
Founders & Project Development Specialists
In November of 2017, Zach Dewell brought his dream to life when he began Upright Builders in Wimberley, TX. Zach is Native Texan, raised in Wink (way out West). Zach enlisted in the US Navy in 2000 and was quickly sent to Crete, Greece for a year where he served as Command Locksmith, Construction Crew Leader. This began Zach’s journey to 7 countries across 4 continents over the years, which gave him a multitude of unique knowledge in building. See details on our
Zach and his wife, Leia left Gulfport, MS and settled in Wimberley, TX in 2006. After working for a high end custom builder for 7 years in the area and realizing the steady growth in the Wimberley Valley area, Zach decided it was a great time to launch Upright Builders.
Living in a small community allows many opportunities to run into past and present clients around town - and it’s important to us that we start and end each project with new friends. Give us a call, we would be honored to meet you!
When not working together in the office or out in the field, you can find Zach and Leia out on their property taking on a new project or at a kids event somewhere! Zach and Leia have 3 children; Jake, Maggi May and Ivy - who keep them busy and fulfilled to the max!
Meet The Team
Amber Alford - Interior Designer
Amber’s fascination with architecture and aesthetics paved the way for her work as an Interior Designer. She has a keen eye for detail and loves solving Interior Design problems, making her an outstanding designer.
She studied Interior Design and Art at Texas State University. Since graduation she started Amber Alford Project, working with residential clients. Amber enjoys creating spaces that reflect her clients and their unique personalities.
She is also an avid thrifter who is passionate about giving new life to vintage items. You never know what you may find at a good “junk” shop! Amber is also a proud single mom to four outstanding humans. They are her pride and JOY!
